Introducing Video Messaging: Encrypted, Ephemeral and Completely Screenshot-Proof (Even on iOS)
At Confide, we are obsessed with ephemerality and screenshot-protection. Why? Because we believe one of the greatest vulnerabilities of email and messaging is the fact that there are copies of our digital communication floating around everywhere — on servers, on devices, in recipients’ inboxes, and more. In our quest to make digital communication as private and secure as the spoken word, leaving no copies behind is critically important, which is exactly how we’ve engineered video messaging.
Confide messages are already completely screenshot-proof on Android, Mac and PC. But due to limitations in iOS, Confide messages on iPhone and iPad are merely screenshot-protected. Video messaging is the first Confide media format that is completely screenshot-proof on all of our platforms, including iOS. If a screenshot is attempted on iOS, none of the actual video content will be on it. It will just be a black screen (complete with a reminder not to attempt screenshots and one of our favorite “confide” quotations — we couldn’t resist…).
You can record a video within Confide, or choose an existing one from your device’s camera roll or cloud storage provider, such as iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or Box. Video messages, which can be up to 30 seconds in length, can be previewed and sent alone or accompanied by text. Upon receiving a video message, tap and hold the video to play. Simply lift your finger to stop.
Like all Confide media formats, video messaging is end-to-end encrypted and ephemeral, allowing you to communicate safely and confidently. In fact, we believe this is the first time a messenger has ever offered end-to-end encrypted, disappearing and completely screenshot-proof video messages.
