Introduces message retraction — first premium feature
When we launched Confide two years ago our goal was to create a global and ubiquitous messenger that allowed people to communicate digitally with the same level of privacy and security as the spoken word. We’re proud to announce that with Confide now available in 15 languages across iOS, Android, Apple Watch, Mac and PC and being used in over 180 countries, we have made significant progress towards that goal. Along the way we have expanded our offering to include text, photos and documents knowing that in this multimedia world, people communicate with more than just their words. And we have built an extraordinary team with world-class investors who share our passion and vision. Today, we are thrilled to announce we have raised $1.6 million to accelerate our growth and take another meaningful step toward our goal.
Financing Details
The $1.6 million Seed Extension is comprised of existing Confide investors WGI Group, First Round Capital, SV Angel, CrunchFund, Marker, Howard Lerman and more. There is no change to the composition of the Confide board. Including this round, Confide has raised $3.6 million to date.
Message Retraction
We are also excited to announce the launch of message retraction, our first premium feature. We have all sent messages that we wish we could take back. Sometimes we send them to the wrong person or with the wrong sentiment; other times we send them too quickly. With a confidential messenger, the stakes can be even higher. Confide’s message retraction allows users to retract (or “un-send”) unread messages. Available globally on iOS and Android, message retraction is a subscription-based in-app purchase.
