Confide Introduces Encrypted, Ephemeral Voice Messaging
Today, we’re incredibly excited to launch voice messaging on Confide!
We built voice messaging because we ultimately want people to be able to confide any medium, from any application, on any device, in any country. We already support lots and lots (and lots) of devices, several forms of media, and a ton of languages spanning 180 countries, so voice messaging was a logical next step.
Why Voice Messaging?
Since Confide messages are encrypted, ephemeral and screenshot-protected, we often describe Confide as the digital version of a phone call. Or we talk about Confide combining the privacy and security of the spoken word with the convenience of digital communication. The introduction of voice to Confide makes these descriptions even more accurate.
The benefits of voice messages are numerous. The spoken word allows you to communicate sentiment, which is often open to interpretation in the written word. Voice messaging is also great for when you are on the move or don’t have both hands free.
How it Works
To send a voice message, tap-and-hold the microphone icon. The icon pulsates as you speak. The voice messages, which can be up to two minutes in length, can be previewed and can also be sent alone or accompanied by text. Voice messaging is completely free to use.
Like all Confide messages, voice messages are end-to-end encrypted and ephemeral.

Send from Mobile, Listen from Anywhere
Voice messages can only be sent from Confide’s iPhone or Android app. Why? Because we don’t think speaking into your laptop or desktop is an organic experience. However, you can listen to a voice message from any Confide app, including desktop.
Confide is available for iOS, Android, Apple Watch, Mac and PC. Download it today.
